Overview
The Physical Therapy Aide Fast-Track Diploma program is designed to prepare the student for assisting a Physical Therapist in the rehabilitation and recovery of patients. The program provides each student with the educational knowledge, laboratory skills and field experiences required for entry-level employment as a Registered Physical Therapy Aide.
In this program, students will assist patients with exercising, use of heat packs, ultra sound and other procedures to help improve mobility to aid in overall recovery. Students will also learn the basics of massage therapy techniques, and how therapeutic and deep tissue massage provide both physiological and psychological benefits.
Students will also learn basic medical terminology, and will be introduced to anatomy and physiology procedures. In addition, students will develop a working knowledge of medical insurance billing for hospitals, doctors’ offices and medical facilities.

The Physical Therapy Aide Fast-Track Diploma program prepares students, under the direct supervision of a Physical Therapist, to assist in the rehabilitation and recovery of patients suffering from disabling conditions caused by age, injury, surgery, physical disability or disease.
Within this program, students are trained in various patient care techniques, which include assisting during treatment sessions, positioning patients for examination, transporting and transferring patients, verifying insurance coverage, and updating medical records.
