Overview
In the Medical Office Specialist program, graduates can count on learning the essential skills needed for a career working with patients, scheduling appointments and managing patient records. This six month program gives students the skills necessary to assist doctors, nurses, patients and other medical personnel for administrative and clerical work. Acquire the skills to handle tasks such as:
- Understanding different insurance coverage
- Using CPT and ICD-9
- Electronically filing medical records
- Billing for Medicaid, Medicare and commercial accounts
Graduates will be qualified to fill entry-level positions in clinics, hospitals, and medical and healthcare facilities.
