Program Overview
ICDC College's Physical Therapy Aide Diploma program prepares students to assist in the rehabilitation and recovery of patients suffering from disabling conditions caused by age, injury, surgery, physical disability or disease. Physical Therapy Aides work under the direct supervision of a Physical Therapist and help improve a patient's overall mobility for a better quality of life.
Students are trained in various patient care techniques which includes assisting during treatment sessions, positioning patients for examination, transporting and transferring patients, verifying insurance coverage, and updating medical records. Physical Therapy Aides also assist in developing treatment and rehabilitation plans to help improve a patient's flexibility and coordination, including the use of ultrasound, exercise and basic massage techniques.
At the completion of the program, Physical Therapy Aide graduates can work in a variety of business settings including:
