Homeland Security & Investigation
Homeland Security is the nation's effort to protect itself from foreign or domestic incidents. In countries outside the U.S., this effort is often known as national security. The Homeland Security and Investigation Program at ICDC College is a unique blend of three major disciplines in private and public safety: Security and Investigations, Emergency Response, and National Defense.
Program Overview
Homeland Security is an emerging field, requiring a variety of learned skill sets and applications. This Diploma program provides students with a broad base of educational and occupational competencies, which are industry-related. This program provides a fundamental pathway to a successful career, which is the cornerstone of all occupational programs at ICDC College.
Homeland Security and Investigation Program graduates are able to pursue entry-level positions in homeland protection, emergency response, public and private security, and more. Their skills and knowledge enable them to apply for entry level positions with agencies such as the Transportation Security Administration (TSA), Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), and other law enforcement and security agencies.
In this fast track program, students will explore and analyze a wide variety of current security issues with practical applications, critical to local, state and national safety. Topics include:
