Homeland Security
Homeland Security is the nation's effort to protect itself from foreign or domestic incidents. In countries outside the U.S., this effort is often known as national security. The online Associate Degree program in Homeland Security at ICDC College is a unique blend of three major disciplines in public safety: Criminal Justice, Emergency Response and Management, and National Defense.
Program Overview
Homeland Security is an emerging field, requiring a variety of learned skillsets and applications. The Associate Degree program provides students with a comprehensive curriculum of educational and occupational competencies, which are broad based and industry-related. This provides a pathway to a successful career, which is the cornerstone of all educational programs at ICDC College.
Homeland Security graduates are able to pursue careers in emergency management, information security, homeland protection, intelligence analysis, public and private security. Their skills and knowledge enable them to apply for positions with agencies such as the Transportation Security Administration (TSA), United States Customs and Border Protection (CPB), Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), United States Citizenship and Immigration Services, and other law enforcement and security organizations.
ICDC College's online program will explore and analyze a wide variety of current and highly sensitive issues, with practical applications, critical to national and global security. Topics include:
