Addiction takes many different forms, such as tobacco, gambling, sex, eating disorders, internet and gaming obsessions, alcohol and drug abuse, and many others. Addiction affects the young and the old, across socio-economic boundaries and all ethnicities. Addiction tears apart families, friends and careers. Addiction kills.
Program Overview
You can make a difference. As a graduate of ICDC College's Alcohol and Drug Counseling Program, you will have the required knowledge, proficiencies and practical experience necessary to help others help themselves. The foundation of student learning centers around the twelve core functions of substance abuse counseling, and meets or exceeds most state, domestic and international certification requirements.
The Alcohol and Drug Counseling program builds a foundation of learned skill sets and competencies with practical application in a working facility. This Diploma program offers a broad based approach to substance abuse counseling, with a focus on client treatment, education and rehabilitation. This provides a pathway to a successful career in substance abuse prevention and treatment.
In this fast track program, students will develop the qualifications required for professional certification or licensing as a substance abuse counselor. In addition to field work experience, students will cover course topics such as:
